The Old Bull and Bush public house in Hampstead has just been beautifully refurbished and it’s a great delight that seven of the Hampstead paintings* were chosen by the designer to hang on the walls of the restaurant – which opened during the second week of April. There’s a spring in a step. Ladies and others will lunch there…..

*Most of the paintings appear on this blog. They include the views from Kenwood over to the lake and of the bridge, a view of Whitestone Pond and over to Athlone House. These are much loved views and there are other versions in stock…..

The daffodils are out and so are some hardy bluebells. But it’s also great to be inside and transported to some far away art treasures through outstanding presentations by leading experts. Soon it will be Venice (with musical accompaniment) then the following month we will be off to Japan!

In Mexico and Panama. The first is a bay in Oaxaca¬† (Wahaca) state called Puerto Escondido, a safer place for swimming and fishing trips than along the coast. The second is a distant view of the cloud forests from a bridge on the Rio Caldera in the Chiriqui province. How different from a rainy January in London…

From Den Haag to Amsterdam and back down to Ghent there’s so much to see. With only a short time in the city of canals the best views – according to your taste – are probably from the water. Quite a few local people enjoyed the hot weather in a very relaxed manner, sitting by the boats drifting by.

Exhibition over now so must get back to painting. So what better than a scene I know really well. Where the tourist amphibious vehicles enter the water, near Vauxhall Bridge, and directly opposite the Tate Britain, the casual beachcomber can take in some iconic London sights.
