We took sketch books and cameras into the public spaces at the RoH. Fabulous views over Covent Garden and fine cafes and restaurants. Friendly staff and volunteers greeted us. There was no bored looking waitress (or a trapeze artist) in the background…

Beautiful blossom in the grounds of Kenwood House, Hampstead – and the cafe is open! One favourite part is the garden to the side of the house with a side walk of rhododendron bushes – casting light, shade and colour. One mother and daughter also were admiring the blooms.

Now that Autumn’s here (yes all the signs say it is) it’s time to fit in some trips to the seaside with the rest of London for company! How the pier copes is quite a mystery. And in the Pavilion all the visitors scarcely look up from their audio tours to view the wonders around…..

Bubbles and rain go together well! The young entertainers on the plazza next to Trafalgar Square in London, outside the National Gallery were a good draw for their younger audience. The shiny pavements made a good reflective and colourful backdrop……
